We have been working on digraphs (ch, th, sh, wh, and ck). We will continue to work on these for a while because many of the students still confuse which digraph to use when they spell a word.
We are also starting to work on recognizing sight words. This will be our main focus for October. With out these words students can not read fluently which causes them to not understand (comprehend) what they have read. Also they will not be able to move up in reading levels without knowing these words. We will be working very hard in the classroom to know them and our homework will consist strictly of sight word activities for the month of October.
