Dear BCS Parents and Student Athletes, We are very happy to announce that beginning on February 1, 2021 the Winter sports season is set to begin. This will be a limited season in that all activates, including Sectionals, must be concluded by March 14, 2021. Due to the shortened length in the season fewer games will be played. Schedule are being created as I type this message. It has also been determined by all counties we would participate in, Steuben, Schuyler and Yates, that a mask must be worn at all times during competition and spectators will not be allowed to attend in-person. We realize some of this information may come as a disappointment, but I ask that everyone try to see the positives in this allowance of athletics and not dwell on what we wish was different. At the end of the day our students have been given an opportunity to pursue an interest of theirs and for this I am grateful. In lieu of spectators not being able to attend games in-person, we do plan to stream live game action for all contests. More information about where and how to access these livestreams will be forthcoming. Thank you for your continues support of our students and District. Go Braves!

Dear BCS Parents/Guardians, If your student is out on quarantine you MUST forward their release to our school nurse, Mrs. Miller, before they can return to school. Her email address is kmiller@bradfordcsd.org. You can also have the testing site/medical provider fax a copy of your release to (607) 583-2305. Mrs Miller will respond to let you know they are cleared to return. If you do not hear from her, your student should remain home tomorrow until their clearance is confirmed. Thank you!

Dear BCS Community, I have several updates to share today. This coming Wednesday, January 13th will again be a full-day of school for students. We had thought our staff was going to be able to be vaccinated on this day, however, these plans with the Schuyler County Public Health Agency fell through due to scheduling and distribution issues. We are working towards scheduling another day for BCS staff to get vaccinated in the not too distant future. If and when this can be scheduled we will do our best to give families and students as much notice as possible. Today we found out we had a school employee and a student test positive for COVID-19. Thankfully the numbers of people effected by this is minimal. We have contacted all impacted families. I know these messages can be disappointing at times, but we continue to take all of the precautions we can to keeps students and staff safe and our doors open. Thank you for your support and understanding. John Marshall Superintendent

Dear Pre-K and 1st Grade Parents, Due to a close contact with an employee who has tested positive for COVID-19 we will have to quarantine the morning PreK class and Ms. Doppel’s 1st grade section. We are calling parents and leaving messages if unable to speak directly. Due to a lack of teacher availability we will not be able to run our afternoon PreK classroom. These students are not a close contact and due not need to quarantine. I apologize for this late notice but we did not receive word of this positive result until this evening. We will share more information with all impacted students/families on Monday. John Marshall Superintendent

Dear BCS Parents/Guardians, We were notified Saturday evening that our staff will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine this coming Wednesday afternoon. As a result of this we will have to make Wednesday, January 13th a half day of school. Students will be sent home at 11:30 AM. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however, I am excited that we continue to make progress to ensure our school remains safe and open for students, our community and staff. John R. Ski Club Update: Ms. Sparks, Ski Club advisor, will be contacting interested students/parents to share information and finalize a commitment to being part of this club. We are planning our first ski day to be Sunday, January 24th. I know there was some interest in extending this opportunity to elementary grade levels, however, after speaking with a resort representative we will keep this club for students in grades 7-12. Don't worry 5th and 6th graders, snow will be on the slopes next year as well. To the students who have signed up for this club, start waxing your skiis and looking for your handwarmers because in a few weeks it will be all about the downhill.

Dear BCS Parents, Please be advised that if your child had to quarantine because of a close contact at school we have received clearance from our local public health agency that all students may return to school. If your child had to quarantine because of a close contact or positive test result not associated with the school, please be sure to provide proof of quarantine release to our nurse, Mrs. Miller, prior to sending them to school. Dear BCS Parents, Thank you for your patience this morning with our bus routes. We are doing the best we can to transport students to school in a timely manner despite having a very limited number of drivers. We will be facing the same shortage of drivers on Tuesday and ask that you continue to be understanding of our circumstances. The time your child was picked up today should be very similar to the time they will be picked up on Tuesday. If you could have your child ready and looking out for the bus it would be very helpful as we try to stay on schedule. Mr. Lewis Head Bus Driver

Dear BCS Parents, Students who ride bus 70 will be picked up in the morning approximately 10-15 minutes earlier than usual due to changes in routes due to our limited number of drivers. Bus 68 will be picking up students instead of bus 70. Thank you.

Dear BCS Community. We received word today from our local health department that a member of our staff has tested positive for COVID-19. This person had already been isolated due to COVID symptoms, however, we did have to quarantine (11) students and (1) additional employee. We will remain on remote instruction for all students in grades 7-12 up until the holiday break. Students in grades PreK-6 will continue to attend in-person school. Please remember Wednesday, December 23rd is our last day of school before the holiday break and we have an early dismissal time of 11:30 AM. John R. Marshall Superintendent
